F&B FERTIGT EQUIPPED FOR DEPLOYMENT IN AND AROUND PADERBORN – F&B MANUFACTURES FIRE FIGHTING VEHICLES INDIVIDUALLY

“The Project of Projects” called Mr. Rappold (service manager at F&B Nutzfahrzeugtechnik) that finally, after the handover to the customer, the fire engine is proud and with us a satisfied smile on your face. A project that he and the entire team proud at F&B. It also shows the range of technical know-how and overall responsibility as general contractor.

First things first. In May 2018, after extensive tendering, the order was received and thus the start of detailing the overall project for the extensive fire engine for the Paderborn fire department. A Mercedes-Benz Arocs 3251L 8×2/4 should be the basis for the fully equipped fire engine, which was converted and built by F&B themselves. The vehicle arrived at F&B at the beginning of March 2019.

Let’s leave the data and facts speak of the extensive activities in the house of F&B.

Construction swap body with a nominal load of 21,000kg. Hydraulically driven and length-adjustable underrun protection in scissor design at the rear of the vehicle, structure of a roll-off tipper, hydraulic winch, truck loading crane as a knuckle-boom crane for operating a load hook and other hydraulic

operated implements for mounting behind the driver’s cab, an overall concept for the operation of the hydraulic system suitable for the vehicle, Central lubrication system, all fire-fighting equipment, i.e. Lighting technology and work lights, radio, electrics (e.g. several CAN-BUS-controlled systems), camera system and fire-fighting equipment and last but not least the TÜV approval.

All in all, a demanding challenge from project planning, project coordination, technical elaboration and ultimately implementation in production to the satisfaction of the customer.
